Dudes.. you forgot the 1986 Exidy arcade game "CHILLER". You know, the one where you shoot at people in a torture chamber and crush heads in a vice.

Granted, almost no one played, but it did get banned from arcades in the mid 80's, and it's disturbing as hell.

???

I am surprised there was no mention of the infamous Thrill Kill in this video, one of the few games I remember not being published from the outcry, and the devs actually caving and abandoning a game.

Yeah, Thrill Kill, Postal, Manhunt, Ethnic Cleansing, Manhunt 2, and BMX XXX were all games we talked about, but they all had to get cut, since we have an 8 minute time limit on the show. So, I focused more on the milestone controversies. You're right though, it would have been a good addition, but with that 8 minute limit.... somethings had to go.

I loved Howard Lincoln's stern words in 1992 that Night Trap would never be released on a Nintendo console, kinda ironic seeing they didn't have technology that could play Night Trap anyway for another ten years.

ha ha. Yeah, where WAS that SNES attachment anyway?

I think really that Nintendo seeing how much the Sega/Mega CD screwed Sega up, gave them cold feet about releasing a CD system. That and being overly neurotic about people pirating their systems, main reason why they stuck to carts with the N64.

Yeah, the next episode (which is already finished) that will be up is all about the SNES CD attachment that never was. Look for it next. As I said, I just finished it, so it should be up shortly.

This is the greatest video game show Ive seen in awhile.I also like how they got into the controversy of all the past video games and I didnt even know that pinball machines were controversal back then either. These guys and girls did a great job on this show and Im looking forward to seeing more episodes.

Great episode! The show just keeps getting better and better.

This is one topic that I find consistently upsetting. Some of the "controversial" elements of games are no worse than what you'd find in a PG-13 rated movie, yet for some reason, games are vilified to a greater extent, ignoring the fact that most games these days are targeted at adults.

Even more upsetting is the breakdown in the causation vs. correlation argument. When the tragedy at Columbine occurred, critics were quick to point out that the pair were into Doom, and this caused them to kill. What about the other 20 million people who played the game and didn't hurt a soul. That two teenage boys enjoyed playing the single most popular game of the time is hardly surprising, and hardly proof that Doom was responsible for society's ills.

I look forward to the day when lifelong gamers are beginning to take office, and the hooplah over games subsides.
