Episode “Long Putt”
Joe: Joe here, we have got a long putt. The reason it is a long putt, is to me it is over 25 feet, this one is about 33 feet. There are three keys to hitting a good long putt; Number one, if you leave it close it is ok, if you happen to leave it close it is ok.
Number two is going to be how we setup; we are going to setup a little bit taller so our arms can swing. Number three we want to make sure that we visualize. We are going to get back here behind the ball and work real hard on the visualization. You can see this right here, the ball goes up the hill a little bit, breaks a little bit to the right and then it gets to the top of the hill and breaks back to the left. So now we know how the ball is going to roll.
We are going to walk up to it, get setup, and remember to stand up a little bit taller. Take a couple of practice swings to get a feel for it and then let’s hit the putt. That’s what I am talking about.
Key points:
1. It is ok to leave the ball close to the hole.
2. Setup taller and swing arms.
3. Visualize the putt.
